This blog is “inspired” (i suppose) by the essays of Michel Montaigne. Note: I am by no means a scholar of that gentleman’s life works, just a fan of his critical approach and how it is applied to an such an expansive collection of topics. I will admit that is hardly saying anything since Montaigne pretty much defined the essay genre and his works can be considered a precursor to all the hot and cold takes proliferating the interwebs today. That’s like a rock musician saying they were inspired by The Beatles. But i truly do mean it because i too hope to write well thought-out pieces on an ambitiously extensive array of subjects.
